A GAME THAT FIGHTS HUNGER
Can you imagine fighting world hunger while learning and having fun? It is easy! Go to www.freerice.com and play a game with a charitable twist. This is an online quiz for anyone from 8 to 108. The program started as a vocabulary booster but has expanded to include geography, foreign languages, chemistry, and many other topics. For each correct answer you provide sponsors donate 20 grains of rice to the United Nations' World Food Program. As of November 2008, FreeRice had raised over 44 billion grains - enough to feed more than two million people for a day. This is a wonderful opportunity to give so share the idea with friends, neighbors, Sunday school classes, etc.
